How to Prepare Your Backyard Before a Renovation Begins

Once a project is scheduled, there are a few things worth doing ahead of time so the first day of work isn't spent clearing space instead of building.

Clear the Work Zone

Move patio furniture, grills, potted plants, and kids' toys away from the area we'll be working in, plus a few extra feet of buffer on each side for material staging and equipment.

Know What's Underground

We always call MISS DIG before digging for footings, but if you've added a low-voltage lighting run, a French drain, or an irrigation line yourself, let us know where it is.

Plan for Access

Crews and material deliveries usually come through a side yard or driveway — if there's a gate, fence, or narrow path involved, we'll walk it with you beforehand so nothing's a surprise on install day.

“We'll walk the access route with you before install day so nothing's a surprise once crews arrive.”

Give Your Neighbors a Heads-Up

A quick heads-up that there will be a few days of trucks and noise goes a long way, especially in tighter subdivisions.

We'll Handle the Rest

We'll walk through all of this together during your consultation, but starting to think about it early keeps the project moving once we're on site.
